It feels like I’ve been neglecting the Amber Ale category, so I was glad to find a couple brews worth sipping on in my latest visit to Ray’s Wine & Spirits. What their name forgets to mention is that they have an excellent selection of local and national craft beer, and I’d highly suggest checking them out if you live in the area and are looking for something interesting to drink.
Anyway, back to the duel. For this pair of Ambers, I grabbed Karben4’s Block Party and Bell’s Amber Ale. I’ve long been a fan of Karben4, but haven’t had this one before, and the Bell’s is new to me as well. So let’s see how it goes.

Have to say, I really enjoyed the Karben4 Block Party. Both of these were pretty good and I enjoyed drinking them, but the Block Party stood out with a more robust flavor. It has a really nice balance, goes down smooth and has a fantastic finish. I’d highly recommend this beer if you’re new to the Amber category.
