Confession: I am a light weight. As much as I love a good stout, the ABV knocks me on my @$$. I love fruit beers for being flavorful, refreshing, and, for me, being able to enjoy more than one without feeling like I’m going to fall over. Berries make me pretty happy, and finding these two raspberry based beers made me pretty excited.
Having recently had New Glarus’ Serendipity, my expectations were high for their Raspberry Tart. It’s contender is the Blushing Monk by yet another solid brewery: Founders. I’m so excited to duel it out!

Dang New Glarus! Your fruit beer game is on point. I have to say, after smelling the freshness of the raspberries from the Blushing Monk, I was expecting it to win this duel. However, the taste of the Raspberry tart really won this one for me. It is like picking a raspberry off the bush and popping it into your mouth. Don’t get me wrong, the Blushing Monk is no chump. For me, the Raspberry Tart just overwhelmed it in its raspberry forward taste. So yum.
