There’s something about Porters that I find irresistible. They are usually very rich and filling, so I wouldn’t recommend a night of porters on a full stomach but if you’re about to start your evening, by all means load up on a couple rich porters.
I’ve had the Shake Chocolate Porter before, and thought it was fantastic. So given the opportunity to try it again, I was all for it. Up against it we have Breckenridge Brewery’s Nitro Vanilla Porter. This is a first time for me with this brew so I’m excited to see how it does.

I hate to say it, but the Nitro Vanilla Porter was less impressive than I’d hoped. A toothless aroma, followed up by a barely-there, subdued vanilla flavor. I was hoping for more, but I won’t give up on Breckenridge Brewery just yet.
Matching my previous experience, Boulder Beer Company’s Shake Chocolate Porter was rich, smooth and delicious! The chocolate aroma is present, but not overpowering. This matches the taste which leads to a very drinkable sweet-flavored brew.
