Good god, I love me a sour duel! Maybe it’s because I grew up addicted to warheads, or maybe it’s because I have a sour tooth the way others have a sweet tooth. Whatever the case, I like me a good sour.
So when I spotted Victory’s Sour Monkey on the cooler shelf, it was one of the first brews to enter my custom six pack. On the next shelf over, I found Destihl Brewery’s Here Gose Nothin’ and added it to the duel. This beer falls within Destihl’s “Wild Sour” series, and if it fares well, I’ll be looking forward to sampling others from this grouping.

Full disclosure, I had the hiccups for about an hour after this one! So the sourness did a number on my palate, but luckily this was my last duel of the night. Both beers were fantastic, but the edge here goes to Destihl Brewery’s Here Gose Nothin’. Aroma, taste and finish – if you can win those categories for me, you’re going to win the duel every time.
I look forward to the rest of Destihl’s offerings in this category. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for their brand.
